Rory's mum is in hospital with an incurable illness, known by the children to be Slobberers Disease. Howard is re-united with his mother and, like Rory is now infected with the disease. Rory, escaped from hospital, and Gramp carry on the search for his dad. Their adventures and this book end with a terrifying scream.
